FOIL, a San Diego Rock Band

FOIL, San Diego’s best rock band.

By: Liane Schmidt

The American public has always had an ongoing love affair with music. Music fills our morning commutes, our favorite movies, and even our outdoor shopping trips with street performers soulfully entertaining crowds with their most beloved songs.

And for those who seek out music as a passion, a hobby or an aspiration, it seems, some of the best talent amidst the sea of musicians and bands, can be found in the up and coming indie label and unsigned bands.

FOIL, a San Diego rock band, is a perfect example of an indie label band with exceptional talent. This band is already enjoying hometown celebrity with such popular fan favorite songs as “Pray” and “A Beautiful Day to Die”. Their music lyrics often transcend the physical and material world, and touch on insightful, substantial questions of immortality and living life free of worldly attachments. Loyal FOIL fans flock to their shows, faithfully singing along with every song having memorized them all by heart.

While most bands clearly have one or two songs that are fan favorites head and shoulders above their other songs, FOIL fans enjoy this band’s music in an exceptional light; for FOIL fans seem to love all the songs. One person may love one song while another may adore a different one. Every song on their album “13″ has been claimed as a fan member’s favorite song; and this recognition and adoration is a rarity. Music legends such as U2 and Pink Floyd have enjoyed fan adoration in a simliar fashion, with their entire album list of songs being highly acclaimed. This sort of fan adoration is a true sign of band longevity and success. Other bands may produce a song or two here and there that strike a short lived chord of popularity, but eventually die out due to shortage of exceptional work and lasting talent.

FOIL, is a rock band that will no doubt one day be recognized in the same league with the well known music legends of our time!

(Recently, FOIL has been nominated as an L.A. Award Nominee for “Hard Rock Artist of the Year”!)
