Making Mistakes
by: Liane Schmidt
Making mistakes, many. This is a part of life. Wish you could take something back, wish you hadn’t acted so rashly. Would’ve, could’ve, should’ve in retrospect. But, you can’t go back in time, you can’t change what has already been done.
You did the best you could in the given moment. You did what you did for a reason. Try not to beat yourself up about it.
There was a quote I once read that said something like this: “We are all doing the best we can right now given what we know and our experience.”
Take time to listen to those around you who truly care about you. Take time to listen to what you know is best for you. Stop “rubbing salt” in your past mistakes, you will make more. Would you do that to a friend?
No. You would support them, you would tell them everyone makes mistakes. We’re all human.
We are all still learning every single day. Give yourself time, compassion, patience and reason.
